Machu Picchu, built before the 15th century, is located in the Eastern Andes mountain range of southern Peru, at 2,430 meters above sea level. It is situated in the Cusco region, Urubamba province, Machupicchu district, in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, 80 kilometers northwest of the city of Cusco, Peru, where the Urubamba River flows, creating a canyon with a tropical mountain climate. According to many scholars, its original name was likely Llaqtapata.
Titicaca
The majestic Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, is one of the greatest natural and cultural treasures of the Peruvian Highlands. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and communities that keep their ancestral traditions alive, this destination is perfect for exploring its mythical floating islands, sailing its crystal-clear waters, and discovering the historical and spiritual richness that surrounds it
Bridge of Sighs
This iconic wooden bridge, full of charm and tradition, is one of the most emblematic spots in Barranco. Surrounded by gardens and offering views that capture the district’s bohemian essence, it’s the perfect place for a romantic stroll or memorable photos. Wrapped in local legends, the Bridge of Sighs is also a symbol of inspiration for Peruvian poets and musicians.
The Rainbow Mountain
The Rainbow Mountain (also known as Vinicunca or simply “Arcoíris”) is one of Peru’s newest and most stunning attractions. Located over 100 kilometers from the city of Cusco, this high-altitude peak—reaching 5,200 meters above sea level (17,060 ft)—is a striking geological formation colored by a complex blend of minerals. Its slopes and summit are painted with an array of hues including red, purple, green, yellow, pink, and more. Remarkably, this natural wonder was covered by ice not so long ago, making its recent unveiling all the more spectacular.
Sto Domingo
The Temple of Santo Domingo, built atop the foundations of a significant Inca complex, is a striking example of the blend between pre-Hispanic and colonial cultures. This majestic Baroque-style structure houses priceless works of religious art and offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the rich history and spiritual essence of Puno.
Barranco Center
The vibrant heart of Barranco is a unique blend of history, culture, and modernity. Its cobbled streets are filled with colonial and republican architecture, as well as artistic murals that tell local stories. Here, you'll find a wide variety of bars, cafes, restaurants, and shops offering the best of Peruvian gastronomy and creativity. It’s the perfect place to explore the bohemian and artistic essence of the district.
Lake Humantay
Located more than 4,000 meters above sea level in the Andes mountains, Lake Humantay is one of the most unique natural wonders in Peru. With the turquoise waters you would expect from the Caribbean and a beautiful, rugged landscape, it is a favorite spot for photographers and outdoor enthusiasts. Be sure to keep an eye out as you hike to the top, as you may spot condors soaring overhead. You can take a private day tour from Cusco or the Sacred Valley to reach the lake, or opt for the Salkantay trek, which will take you from Humantay to Machu Picchu.
Plaza de Armas
The vibrant heart of Puno, the Plaza de Armas, is the epicenter of the city’s social and cultural life. Surrounded by colonial architecture, local shops, and restaurants, this lively space invites visitors to enjoy its gardens, visit the Puno Cathedral, and experience the warmth of the local people in an atmosphere rich in history and tradition.
Museum of Contemporary Art
Known as the MAC, this museum is a landmark for modern and contemporary art in Lima. Set in a picturesque environment surrounded by gardens and an artificial lake, it features exhibitions from both national and international artists. Its minimalist architectural design and cultural programming make it an essential destination for art and culture lovers in Barranco.
The Maras Salt Flats
The Maras Salt Mines in Cusco, also known as the Maras Salinas, are salt mines whose exploitation dates back to the times of the Tahuantinsuyo. Located on the slopes of a hill, the salt pans, arranged in terraces, are crossed by a stream that feeds the pools with salty water. The use of Maras Salt has been passed down through generations for thousands of years, with each family inheriting this tradition, yet it is managed collectively. The salt mine’s name in Quechua is Kachi Raqay and consists of about five thousand pools, each around 5 square meters. The water filters into the pools and evaporates under the intense sun, causing thick salt crystals to form.
Viewpoint
From the Chucuito Viewpoint, you can enjoy a privileged view of Lake Titicaca and the surrounding Andean landscapes. This panoramic spot is the perfect place to admire the vastness of the lake, capture unforgettable photographs, and connect with the tranquility and beauty of the Peruvian Altiplano.

The Qorikancha
The Qorikancha was the religious center of Cusco, as well as the geographical and political hub. The Qorikancha temple was the place where tribute was paid to the supreme god of the Incas, ‘Inti’ (the Sun). ‘Qori’ means worked gold, and its Spanish form is 'cori'. ‘Kancha’ means a closed place, surrounded by walls. Thus, the name roughly translates to 'the closed place that contains gold
